Our Humanity
Austin, TX | ©️ 2024 Alicia Kae Miller
Given the uncertainty in the world today, we can all agree that there is nothing better than "Howdy!" and a friendly smile to brighten even the most challenging days.
This truth is why I was grinning from ear to ear when I saw countless joyful, instead of chilling, skeleton decorations popping up around Austin town last month.
As I captured funny ha-ha snaps, I decided to share my delight with my nearest and dearest in Texas and beyond. To my pleasant surprise, very soon after, my phone started blowing up with beaming Skellies from as far away as the majestic Pacific Northwest.
After laughing until I cried, I reflected on our collective lighthearted connection, which is present even in times of darkness, and how, although we may disagree on navigating critical issues, underneath the armor of our skin and bones, we are bound by blood and destiny, regardless of our differences.
Until we meet again, give one another space and grace. ❤️
Yours in Solidarity, -akm
